Morning after the Night Before

Well, Oscar's cough and abandonment feelings finally got the best of him last night. He gave Auntie Jo a rough go at sleeping time as he cried MAMA over and over for half an hour. :-(

He then woke at 2am for the second night in a row yelling 'Dada!' while heaving his left leg up and over the rail on the crib. He is almost ready to escape...and to plunge. Wee hours Tuesday morning he went back to sleep but not last night. He was awake for nearly 2 hours (2am-4am) and jibber-jabbering away and trying to get Dada to read and play. But I was super-tired after having driven back from Bishop's (arrived midnight). As he refused to go back to his crib Dada let him rest on the futon on the floor with him instead. Oscar was clingy but wasn't upset after a while. Still, it was exhausting. It was also Vietnam hot and humid upstairs, about 30 celsius.

Oscar was also cranky in the morning (up at 8am) but he felt much better after having Motrin forcibly squirted at his tonsils. After than he settled down and ate his French Toast ("more sauce") and yogurt and had fun watching Pingu with Léo. He then went to school without too much fuss though he still doesn't want to let go when it's time for Dada to leave.

Let's hope tonight goes a whole lot better.
